Mia Stewart is the 20‑year‑old daughter of Domonique and Larry Stewart. She is currently attending Nicholls State University, where she is majoring in Biology with a Pre‑Medicine concentration.

Mia is a member of two collegiate honor societies and has had the honor of serving as President of Phi Eta Sigma. Her dedication to academics and research earned her the Bio‑Physics Award at a state‑level science fair, highlighting her strong passion for STEM. She has also received the Sorority Life Philanthropy Award for raising the highest amount of funds among all sororities on campus.

After graduating from Nicholls State University with a degree in Biology (Pre‑Medicine), Mia plans to attend Tulane University School of Medicine and specialize in Sports Medicine. Her long‑term goal is to work with the NFL, and she ultimately hopes to open her own orthopedic clinic focused on treating chronic musculoskeletal conditions.

Mia completed a clinical internship at Ochsner, earning certifications in CCMA, HIPAA, and CPR. One of her proudest accomplishments is raising more than $20,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals through large‑scale philanthropy efforts. In addition, she founded a toy drive within her sorority chapter, donating over 500 toys to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.

Beyond her academic and professional pursuits, Mia has over 15 years of dance training and 7 years of teaching experience. She stays active through pickleball, weightlifting, yoga, and Pilates. With more than a decade of sewing experience, she also owns a small business creating custom sorority letter apparel. Mia is deeply passionate about volunteering and remains committed to serving her community.

When asked about her favorite Fur & Wildlife Festival tradition, Mia shared her love for how the festival celebrates the heart of Louisiana’s coastal culture. She admires how it brings together generations of families, fishermen, farmers, and local businesses to honor the traditions that built their communities. Most of all, she treasures the pride and sense of connection the festival inspires in everyone who attends.
